Originally, a 16th century farmhouse located in the historic village of Riseley, Bedfordshire in the late 19th century the building was converted into a beerhouse, named The 'Fox and Hounds' and has served great beer for hundreds of years ever since. Then, in 1989 under the new ownership of Jan & Lynne Zielinski, it was totally transformed yet again, this time into a luxurious restaurant while retaining its true English Pub heritage feel and character.

At The 'Fox & Hounds' food is our passion. We are renowned for our high quality hand-picked ingredients and diverse range of dishes with daily changes of menu, which include a selection of 'house specials'. Our concept is to serve good quality food in generous portions; we make no pretence to 'nouveau cuisine', simply describing our meals as 'great comfort, original food'.

As soon as you enter the Fox and Hounds you will be embraced with a traditional English pub welcome. Oak beams, a roaring open fire in winter, friendly staff and a cosy atmosphere serving award-winning beers, spirits and wines has won us many accolades. And then, of course, there's our steaks and food...

The Fox and Hounds prides itself on a unique meal-ordering experience. We call it 'The Grill Theatre' where your meal is cooked within the restaurant itself. As part of the ordering process you can see all our Scottish beef on display, select the size that suits your appetite and specify how you want it cooked. Then leave it to us and we'll do the rest.

As you'd expect, the Fox and Hounds Restaurant is a popular destination with regular clients from towns such as Bedford, Rushden Wellingboro and St Neots. But it doesn't stop there. Some of our customers come back to us time and again from places as far afield as London, Milton Keynes and Cambridge. Our reputation has spread that far!

But just don't take our word for it. The Grill Theatre is recommended by Palmer Autosport, Bedford Bodyflight, Sporting Targets Clay Complex, Santa Pod Raceway and Grafham Water Sailing Club, all of whom host business events and international competitions, taking full advantage of our generous facilities.
